The compositing system has a lot of functionality however you don't have to use it all. The most common types of compositing are very simple to use. However if needed there is a lot of power available, including:
- Separate scattering events, objects and light contributions
- Tint scattering events and lights by any colour
- Apply textures to tints to vary texturing
- Modify tone-mapping at any time without re-rendering
- Persist composite data to disk
- Separate direct and indirect contributions
- No edge artifacts typically scene with alpha compositing
